Landmannalaugar

The highlands of Landmannalaugar are among the most colourful landscapes on earth — rhyolite mountains in shades of red, green, yellow and purple rising from obsidian lava fields, the whole landscape steaming with geothermal activity. A natural hot spring pools at the edge of a lava flow here, and the area is the starting point of the Laugavegur, one of the world's great hiking trails.
