Herðubreið — the queen of Icelandic mountains — rises alone from the central highland desert in one of the most striking natural forms in Europe: a near-perfect tuya, created when volcanic eruptions pushed up through the weight of a glacier during the last ice age, producing its characteristic flat crown and sheer, columnar flanks. At 1,682 metres it stands in magnificent isolation above the vast lava desert of Ódáðahraun — the largest lava desert in Europe — its silhouette rising in sharp, clean angles from the flat desert floor. As a backlit lithophane, Herðubreið's geometry of summit, cliff and shadow is extraordinary.

Note on Material: Every roll of white filament has its own character - even the same "white" can vary slightly from batch to batch, ranging from a cool, bright white to a warmer ivory tone. If you would like several pieces to match exactly, order them together and they will be printed from the same roll.
Printed to order: Your lithophane is 3D printed on demand by Bjarni himself in Germany and shipped to you as soon as it is ready. A one-person workshop can take a few days longer than a big print farm - but your order is made with care, and it will get to you.
